Weekend Services | Live at All Campuses!

Exciting news: All our Gateway campuses will begin having weekend services in person again!

This is a big day, and we can’t wait to worship with you! Initially, our service times will be 4 pm on Saturday and 10 am on Sunday, and for your safety, we will be closely following health and government guidelines.

Things to Know Before the Service

  • We will follow Governor Abbott’s state guidelines on physical distancing and sanitization to ensure everyone has a safe space to worship in. See our Reopening FAQ.
  • Please observe physical distancing by keeping two empty seats between seated parties.
  • In-person children’s ministry will not be available. Children are welcome to attend the service with you and encouraged to bring a tablet or mobile device with earbuds to watch their very own Bible lesson at gatewaypeople.com/kids.
  • Please wear a face mask to and from your seat. (You may remove it while seated if you are unable to keep it on during the length of the service.)
  • In addition to our corporate prayer time, we invite you to text PRAYER to 71010 to receive personal prayer.
  • Please join us online this week if you’ve had: a fever of 100 degrees or above, a cough or sore throat, shortness of breath, or contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19 (in the past 14 days).

What to Expect

We will continue having our full online experience for those who want to continue worshipping with us from home. But no matter where we gather—in person or online, here or there—we’re Gateway together! #gatewaytogether

Online-Only Services Through June

After much prayer and conversation, we have decided to continue meeting online through the month of June. Regulations still encourage social distancing, and we realize that following these regulations would not only significantly reduce the amount of people who can worship with us in person but would make it difficult to have children’s ministry.

We hope you’ll continue to worship with us online each weekend! We have engaging experiences for kids, students, groups, women, and young adults. We also have a service in Spanish and online classes through the Equip Library.

We love you and are here for you! If you need anything at all, text CONNECT to 71010 to speak with one of our leaders or share a prayer request.

Gateway Church Reopening Update

We are closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and will be posting frequent updates here. To receive updates, text CONNECT to 71010.

We’re so grateful to the Lord for His continued goodness and divine intervention as He has promised to be with us in all circumstances and situations (see Psalm 46:1–3).

While there continue to be challenges related to this global pandemic, we are encouraged as we see many positive signs that we are returning to some form of normalcy.

This week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced there will be a carefully thought-out, methodical process for reopening Texas businesses beginning May 1.

Many of you have asked, “How does the governor’s recent announcement affect Gateway? When will we begin meeting together again at our campus? When will we get to go to church?”

Our greatest concern is for the safety and well-being of our Gateway family, our guests, and our community. We want to honor and respect our governmental authorities and the advice of noted medical experts as to when it is safe to return to corporate worship. We also want to be cautious as to when we begin meeting in person, so we can avoid any setbacks.

For now, we plan to continue holding our Gateway services online only through the end of May. We’ll also continue offering engaging online experiences for kids, students, and groups and the Equip Library for online learning. This has worked well and has allowed us to remain safe while still being able to worship and experience God’s presence at home.

We encourage you to join us online each weekend as Pastor Robert shares his upcoming series that explores biblical answers to tough questions.

We are here for you! If you need anything, simply text CONNECT to 71010 to talk with one of our leaders or to share your prayer requests.

In the coming weeks, as the situation evolves and regulations change, we will provide additional updates. We pray God continues to give you a spirit of peace, increase your faith, and provide for your every need.

To learn more about how you can stay connected, get involved, or receive help during this time, visit our Connect page.

National Day of Prayer

Our president has called for a National Day of Prayer today for the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. One of the definitions in Webster’s Dictionary for the word pandemic is “occurring over a wide geographic area and affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population.”

I immediately thought about prayer and our National Day of Prayer for this virus. What if we had a pandemic of prayer today? What if we had prayer going on “over a wide geographic area and affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population”? Let’s do that! Let’s have a pandemic of prayer today!

Let’s pray for those affected by the coronavirus, and let’s pray for their families. And let’s pray for our medical professionals as they search for a cure. Let’s pray for our civic leaders as they make decisions that affect our safety and our health. And most of all, let’s pray for a miracle cure from heaven!

Let’s bombard heaven with a pandemic of prayer today!

–Pastor Robert

An Important Message from Pastor Robert

Dear Gateway Family,

We have spent a lot of time in prayer and preparation for the upcoming weekend. However, in light of the growing national concerns and precautions many organizations are taking as they pertain to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and in response to state officials and the declaration by Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins to limit large gatherings, the leadership of Gateway Church has decided not to hold public services this weekend. Instead we will hold our weekend service online only.

This is a great opportunity to gather in your home with your family and worship together as you watch online. Our weekend service will air Saturday, March 14, at 4 pm (CT) and can be replayed any time after that.

You can join us at:

Since health professionals are canceling all essential meetings and asking us to practice social distance, we are canceling all other Gateway events and services at all our campuses until further notice, including Gateway Groups.

For many, the spread of this virus has caused fear and anxiety. Yet we are grateful that the Bible tells us, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you would sense God’s peace in the midst of these difficult circumstances. This does not mean we should be careless or reactionary but rather walk in wisdom as we serve the Lord and our community in a way that demonstrates our trust in God and our love for people.

We love you and are praying for you and your families’ continued safety and well-being and for all those who have been affected by this virus. We’re also praying for a cure from heaven and for our medical community as they deal with the impact of this crisis.

Pastor Robert Morris and the Gateway Elders

Gateway Travel Suspended

With the rapidly developing impact on global travel due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and for the overall safety and well-being of our staff and church family, we have decided to suspend all Gateway-sponsored and staff-led international travel for the remainder of March and all of April.

Our purpose for doing this is to help minimize health risks to our congregation and staff and to eliminate potential travel delays and complications in foreign countries. Given the evolving information and overall impact, we will review month by month whether or not to further suspend travel.

For high-risk areas identified by the CDC (China, Iran, Italy, South Korea), we are suspending travel through June.

For more information on affected trips, visit trips.gatewaypeople.com.

Congregational Update

Dear Gateway Members and Guests:

With the heightened awareness and public concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as the ongoing seasonal flu virus and common cold, we want to assure you that public health and safety concerns are our highest priority. At all our Gateway facilities, we are very intentional about providing clean, sanitary, and safe environments for people to meet and worship God. We have enhanced our already-thorough cleaning procedures. This includes a comprehensive daily cleaning of all restrooms and various touch points (doorknobs, handles, water faucets, handrails, etc.). In addition, our facilities staff continually cleans throughout and between each service. The children’s classrooms and toys are disinfected after each service by the Gateway Kids staff and volunteers at each campus.

While we realize no public environment is 100% safe, we take every precaution and safety measure possible and are diligent in our nationally recognized ISSA training procedures with our custodial staff in regard to proper cleaning standards and sanitation.

We encourage you to wash your hands frequently and to refrain from simple actions such as shaking hands. Also, if you or your children are ill, please stay home and watch our services online at gatewaypeople.com.

Thank you,

Gateway Senior Leadership Team
