I started attending Gateway in 2009 when I was 19 years old. The following year I began serving in students ministry and leading a group of girls. At that time, I was working in the creative industry and vocational ministry was not even a thought in my mind! As someone who isn’t a gifted teacher, vocalist, or musician, in that season I didn’t see where I would fit and was perfectly content volunteering. Looking back, I can see that my gifts did not disqualify me from serving the Church but instead perfectly equipped me to do just that!
I came on staff full-time in January 2013. In my role, I have the honor of overseeing events and creating strategy and content to reach the next generation. I’m incredibly passionate about the next generation developing their gifts to be the Church—not only as pastors and worship leaders but also as graphic designers, teachers, business owners, public servants, film directors, and so much more.
As a staff member at Gateway, I've grown and developed as a leader and gained incredible friendships. Recently, our daughter broke her arm, and my team sent the sweetest treats to her. Another colleague sent us dinner after a long day at the hospital, and even more coworkers reached out to pray for us. In difficult times, it’s always incredible to have support from your family, and that's what we’ve found at Gateway: a family!
The fact that I've been able to use my passion for creativity, content, and administration to serve the house that helped me grow into a mature believer has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.
