“One day we were in church, shortly after our first child was born, and a woman came and told us we were going to go through a hard time, and we would have to keep our faith and trust God. We’d never seen the lady before. And after that we went home and didn’t know exactly what was going to happen. We had just started trying for our second child and after the lady spoke to us we had a miscarriage, then another one. Things were very tough for us. We ended up having five miscarriages, and we just kept praying that God’s will would be done. Finally, my wife was pregnant again, and after three months we were past the point of the previous miscarriages so we went for an ultrasound. Everything was good! Months later, we went back for another ultrasound and the doctor asked me if we had a name picked out. We didn’t because we decided to give the baby to God, not knowing if it would go to term. That night I went home and asked God to give us a name and He did. I wrote it down but didn’t tell my wife. She was also praying for a name without telling me. A few days later, one Saturday during service, she told me that God gave her a name. I pulled my phone from my pocket and showed her what I had written down. It was the same name: Elaine! I just want to praise God for what He has done for us. Today, the baby is one month old and has brought so many blessings into our lives!”
