“When I was about five years old, I was riding my bicycle on the wrong side of the road with my cousin, and I got hit by a car. Miraculously, I didn’t break a single bone in my body. Three months later my friend, a preacher’s son, invited me to Sunday school at his church. Afterward, there was a worship service, and I went to the altar and very sincerely gave my life to Christ. My family moved to Dallas, and I lived a dedicated life for Christ throughout elementary school and middle school. But in high school, when the ’70s came around with all the hippies and drugs, I decided I needed to get out a little bit. I partied a lot, but I was often conflicted. I had one foot in with Christ and the other with the world. I was like an eight-ball—I never truly fit in anywhere. Then one night in 1977, I was driving down the street on my way to a club when I heard the Holy Spirit say, ‘Why don’t you go to the house of the Lord?’ So I pulled up to a church in Oak Cliff and sat in the back pew with my hippie outfit on. During the service, the pastor saw me and asked me in front of everyone if I would like to give my life to Christ. Then he asked if I wanted them to pray for me. I said yes, and the whole congregation prayed for me. My life changed instantly! I received the peace of God. After that day more than 40 years ago, God called me into evangelism ministry. Now I preach and witness to people all over Dallas. I enjoy living for the Lord, and everywhere I go I tell my story.”
