Crisis Relief | Summer 2021

Our world is hurting right now, and our hearts are heavy. There is devastation around the world: terrorism and persecution in Afghanistan, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake in Haiti, economic crisis in Lebanon, and now a hurricane in Louisiana.

But it’s times like these are when the Church can rise up and share the hope we have in Jesus. We are in contact with our ministry partners on the ground in these areas. We’ll keep you updated with what’s going on and how you can help, but here’s what you can do right now.

Our ministry partners are helping people get to safety; providing water, food, and shelter; and more.

Give to our ministry partners.

Lord, we ask You to pour out Your Spirit all around the world. People are facing incredible difficulties, and we pray that those in despair find You.

During this time, we pray for:

  • Protection.
  • Provision for those in need.
  • New Testament miracles.
  • Saved souls.
  • Wisdom for our leaders.
  • Supernatural peace.

Refugee Welcome Kits

Many Afghan families were forced to flee their homes with few, if any, personal belongings. In response, Gateway is partnering with World Relief to build welcome kits for the refugees and their families. The welcome kits provide the basic household items Afghan refugees will need as they begin a new journey in the North Texas community.

The items include essentials with seven kit opportunities: English tutor, dining, kitchen, household, bedroom, bathroom, and hygiene. Find a list of items for each kit on our Refugee Welcome Kits page.

You can help by building a kit, compiling it in a moving box, and dropping it off at your Gateway campus the weekends of September 25–26 and October 2–3.

If you’re not near a Dallas–Fort Worth campus or unable to build a physical kit but still want to help, you can give toward a kit.

Minuteman Disaster Response
If you’re looking for a way to practically help those in need, Gateway Church is partnering with Minuteman Disaster Response (MDR) to send teams to those facing devastation from Hurricane Ida. Teams begin deploying to the areas in need on Friday, September 3, and will continue deploying until the needs are met. MDR will equip their teams with excellent training, proper equipment, and plenty of work. Once the team arrives at the designated area, they will be provided with a place to sleep, ground transportation, and three meals a day. You can learn more and sign up to be part of one of the relief teams at

If you’re ready to deploy immediately, select “JOIN” (at the top right-hand corner); if you would like more information, please fill out the form.
