At-Home Water Baptism

Water baptism is a declaration. It’s how you say, “I follow Jesus, and I’m a new person in Him.” If you’ve accepted Christ but haven’t been water baptized, there’s no need to wait! You can have a water baptism celebration right at home with your family and close friends!

So what do you need to have a water baptism at home?

  1. Water

You don’t have to be baptized at church. In fact, Jesus got baptized in a river. You can be baptized wherever there’s water—a pool, lake, or jacuzzi—even a bathtub! Pool floaties optional.

  2. Declaration

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that a pastor has to baptize you. Any believer can baptize someone! Before you are submerged in water, signifying the end of your old life and the beginning of your new life in Christ, here’s a simple declaration the person baptizing you can say, “Because of your profession of faith in Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

  3. Celebration

This is an amazing moment, so take photos and video, eat some yummy dessert, and enjoy time with your family and friends!

And that’s it! Water baptism is so simple but so profound. It’s a supernatural act of obedience that will change your life.
