“I’m new to Gateway physically, but my wife and I have been attending Gateway for almost four years online. One Sunday evening when we were living in Virginia, we happened to see Pastor Robert Morris Ministries on television, and it literally changed the course of my life. I read several of Pastor Robert’s books, and in a short period of time, I was attending Gateway every week from my computer. After about two years, I asked my wife, ‘How about moving to Texas?’ She didn’t like the idea, but when my son got accepted to Dallas Theological Seminary, we decided to pick up our lives and the business we own and move to Dallas with him last summer. While all this was going on, and for many years prior, I had been dealing with some terrible anger issues, and it was affecting my wife and kids. Sometimes I would get upset for no reason at all. When we got down here, I started taking freedom classes. I met with a pastoral counselor and he recommended I get professional counseling, and he also encouraged me to officially join the church. When my wife and I were at our membership class, there was a part where Pastor Robert asked if we had given our hearts completely to God. In that moment, I realized that after 20 years of church and raising my family in a Christian home, I was head-saved, but I wasn’t heart-saved. I’m now claiming the day of that class as the day I got saved, and my anger has completely changed. I can’t explain it other than to say that the Lord is living in me and He drove all that junk out. I don’t know how to thank God enough.” Richard and his family attend the Southlake Campus.
