“I grew up in a Christian household, but it wasn’t until I was about 22 years old that I found out I was almost aborted twice. By the time I was on the way, my mother and father hated each other and were planning to split up. Had they gone through with it, I wouldn’t be here right now; however, my mom had a radical encounter with Jesus Christ and soon after that my dad did too. Jesus literally saved their marriage. They have a picture hanging on their wall from when they first got married. Wrapped around the frame is a small cross on a string. When I was there last, seeing that picture blew my mind because I knew it was the Holy Spirit showing me that Jesus Christ had held them together. Growing up, I knew who Jesus Christ was but I didn’t understand His grace. I always thought it was about how hard I could work to pursue Him. When I was 22, I realized I had it backward and He was pursuing me. I like to dance in worship—because God has blessed my life and given me freedom and identity. I’ve been redeemed, and I just can’t help but praise Him like King David did.”
