Jonathan Adams
Campus Pastor
Jon serves as the campus pastor for the Gateway Plano Campus. His passion is simple: to see people encounter Jesus in a real and powerful way. Jon wants to reach the lost, disciple believers, and empower every person he encounters to live out their God-given calling. He believes that when people meet Jesus, everything changes—hearts are healed, lives are restored, and hope is renewed.
At the age of 5, Jon surrendered his life to Christ at the altar of his grandfather’s church in Flint, Texas. He grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn’t until the summer of 2000 after his senior year of high school that he recommitted his life to Jesus and began to experience a personal, close relationship with the Lord. That summer as he served on the worship team at his church, he felt a call to full-time ministry in the local church. In 2002, Jon enrolled in the Institute for the Arts in Austin, Texas, where obtained his bachelor’s degree in music ministry and an associate’s degree in theology. Bonus: this was also where he would meet Hope, his future wife!
Prior to coming on staff at Gateway, Jon spent most of his professional career in the hospitality industry, working at various locations including hotels, hospitals, and country clubs. Jon and Hope began attending Gateway Church in 2015. Hope came on staff four years later in September of 2019, and Jon followed shortly after in December. Before becoming the campus pastor at Plano, Jon served for almost six years as the associate campus pastor and pastor of next steps for the Grand Prairie Campus.
Jon and his wife, Hope, have been married since 2005 and are honored to serve their church family alongside their two kids, Jaxson and Emmie. Together, they believe God has called them to help create an environment where people encounter His presence, grow in community, and are sent out to shine His light in every sphere of life.
