Areas of Ministry: During business hours, I review and approve financial transactions, but it’s so great that there is room and space for the Holy Spirit to creatively and appropriately redirect my focus to a ministry need, and then resume daily tasks as needed. I love having one-on-one prayer time with a person who is seeking God’s heart.

Family: I don’t have a family of my own yet, but I’m very close with my immediate family, which consists of my father, mother and 12 biological siblings.

Saved: I can’t remember the exact date, but I know I accepted Jesus in my heart as Lord and Savior when I was 14 years old.

Education: Masters in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin

Previous Lines of Work: Public Accounting, Accounting and Bookkeeping. The Lord has used each previous line of work to prepare me for this current position. Praise God!

One of the Things I Find Most Fascinating: I am fascinated when people hear from the Holy Spirit, whether if it’s the first time or the hundredth time. I love that we can hear God and be loved by Him each day.

FAVORITE

Books: I like so many books; I don’t have an official favorite book. But I do really like Passion and Purity (by Elisabeth Elliot); Mere Christianity (by C.S. Lewis) and Hinds Feet on High Places (by Hannah Hurnard).
Food: Most cereals; beef; chicken (particularly well-cooked, authentic fajitas); really good guacamole (If you’re ever in Austin, Texas, please do yourself a favor and check out the guacamole at Kerbey Lane. Please! It is really tasty!); Salvadorean Tamales (as prepared by my amazing mom); basically anything prepared by my family members and friends :)
Snack Food: Chocolate (in general, except dark chocolate), flaming hot munchies, hummus and pita bread!
Movie: The Prince of Egypt
TV Show: I hardly watch TV nowadays. When I was a teenager, I would wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z (I always wanted to be the Sailor Moon girl and I really admired Goku of Dragonball Z).
Song: “Your Love is a Song” (by Switchfoot)
Actor: Tyler Perry (as Madea!)
Time of Day: Anytime in the morning with Jesus; after dinner with a friend at a coffee shop
Season: Autumn
Place in the World: The lyrics “and I still haven’t found what I’m looking for” captures the essence of a deep longing within me for a place I have not yet visited or seen … something like paradise. Although New Zealand is gorgeous and looks like paradise. :)
Place to Pray: In bed
Recreational Activities/Hobbies: I have very few hobbies; I need more of them. But, I do play the guitar, and I enjoy playing Phase 10 (but when I play, you can actually substitute the word “playing” with the word “winning”).
Scripture: Psalm 5:11–12
Bible Story: King David’s life … all of it (because of how God loved him and how he loved God).
Sport: Volleyball

LEAST FAVORITE

Food: Anything that’s expired. I also really don’t like radish, most cheeses or ham.
Season: Winter! I don’t like cold temperatures.
Place in the World: I think I dislike cemeteries … all of them, because death should not be natural. We were meant to live forever and, because of Jesus, we will.

Best Things Someone Said to You: “I love you” and “God used you to speak into my life.” They are both very meaningful statements.

Life Motto: I don’t think I have a life motto. I desire to live according to the leading of the Holy Spirit, which is God’s way of helping me to do what Jesus said in Matthew 4:4: “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Three People I’d Like to Meet: Hmmm … I think I’d actually answer in terms of “Three People I’d Like to Have Dinner With” because then I could meet the person and eat food with them! In that case, the three people would be (1) Brooke Fraser, (2) Christine Caine and (3) Steven Curtis Chapman.

My Hero: My hero is my dad. He is a loving, strong, hard-working, sacrificial, dependable, overcoming man of God. My mom is also my heroine. They led me to Christ. My number one hero, of course, is Jesus.

One of My Greatest Experiences with God: My greatest experience with God happened when I realized that He had completely forgiven me of all transgressions … forever.

Most People Don’t Know This About Me: I have an unexplainable connection to the U.S. states of Wisconsin and California, and to the nation of England.
