Saved
I always thought I was not good enough to be saved, so I continually tried to work hard enough to be accepted by God. Little did I know that I was right about not being good enough but dead wrong about cleaning myself up. Right before college, I learned about the grace of God and was saved and baptized in a lake north of Abilene, Texas.

Family
I’ve been married to Lexa since July 25, 1992. We have five children: Macey, Bethany, Seth, Cole, and Brielle.

Fun Facts
The best advice I’ve ever received is
to buy high-quality tools so that you only have to buy them once. Brush your teeth before you put your tie on. Buy a plunger before you need one. Save a little money every paycheck. You can tell the size of a man by the things that bother him. No matter their job or status, everyone deserves my respect. If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.

People might be surprised to know that I don’t like chocolate, I dream of owning a ranch and raising horses and cattle, and that I love Texas history.

If I could get coffee with one person it would be C. S. Lewis. He was not trained as a theologian, but he learned Greek and could read the New Testament in the original language. He was also a profound thinker and wrote some things that have impacted me deeply.
