Byron Copeland is executive pastor of human resources. His ministry experience spans 30 years, serving at churches in Louisiana, Arizona, and Texas. Byron started in ministry as a campus pastor for a Christian school in Louisiana in 1990 and spent the following 16 years in youth ministry. He oversaw Gateway’s NextGen ministry (now Gateway’s kids, students, and young adults ministries) for nine years and served as the campus pastor for the Gateway NRH Campus for five years before transitioning in 2017 to the executive campus pastor for Gateway Church, where he oversaw all Gateway campuses.

Byron met the Lord as a teenager at a Baptist youth camp in Louisiana. After college and while at an Assemblies of God church in Louisiana, he sensed God calling him to ministry.

Pastor Byron married his wife and best friend, Rachelle, on November 23, 1991. They have three sons: JB, Jacob, and Jett.
