Sylvia Torrez
Area of Ministry: I joined the Gateway Staff in October 2005. Upon my arriaval, I had the pleasure of working for Associate Senior Pastor David Smith. My husband and I have served as Gateway Group Leaders and Section Leaders. I now have the privilege of serving on the leadership team of Gateway Equip and am honored to teach. In addition, I'm blessed to lead the wonderful Saturday Guest Central and Welcome Center teams at the NRH Campus.

Family: I am married to a wonderful man of God, Edward Torrez.
Saved: I was saved around the age of 5. My neighbor used to take me to church with her family, and I gave my heart to Jesus in my Sunday School classroom.
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Speeh Communication from The University of Texas at Arlington. Master of Arts in Management from Dallas Baptist University.
Previous Lines of Work: I have worked for different ministries since 1991. I have served as Director of the Volunteer Mininstry, Director of Adult Christian Education, Director of Visitor Folow-up, Events Coordinator, Assistant to Senior Pastor, Oversight of Spanish Mentoring for Women, Minister at Women's Events and Spanish Coordinator.

Most People Don’t Know This About Me: I love to sing worship to the Lord and have sung with various praise teams and groups. I enjoy playing the piano, baking, and I am a certified cake decorator. I have a graduate level, advanced certificate in HR Management and am certified to function as a Court Appointed Mediator for the State of Texas.
