What is Worship Team Academy?

Worship Team Academy (WTA) is an exciting training program for raising up passionate, worshipping musicians and vocalists (ages 13 and up). Each 12 week semester utilizes an exclusively developed video curriculum that focuses on content and skills relevant to modern worship. WTA primarily implements the Nashville number system to teach scales, chords, rhythm, and chart reading. In every class, students are taught new musical skills to apply in worship songs.

WTA offers group classes in Acoustic Guitar, Piano, Drums, Bass, Electric Guitar, Percussion and Vocals (pop-style technique).

Our courses are designed to supplement students' craft training at their current level of development which includes:

  • LEVEL 400: BAND (only available at Southlake)

The WTA staff will help every student determine which level is appropriate before registration.

How do I get involved?

We hold a Worship Information Meeting twice per year to explain the details of involvement with Worship Team Academy and the Choir. The next meeting will be in July; a registration link will be posted here soon.

Attendees of Gateway Church are welcome to register for the upcoming semester after attending the Worship Information Meeting. Information on evaluations and registering for the semester will be given at this meeting. The upcoming semester will be in session from August to November 2018.

For more information or any questions about WTA, please email worshipteamacademy@gatewaypeople.com. Make sure to mention which instrument you are interested in and what campus you plan to attend.
