Welcome to the Performing Arts Community of Gateway Church! We’re so excited you’re interested or currently serving in this ministry and want you to know you’re welcome and valued here. Our goal for Gateway Worship is to produce highly influential God-worshippers, and we know that the Performing Arts is a vital part of this goal. We define Performing Arts as any form of artistic expression that can be presented to others, and we consider all areas of Performing Arts that are used to glorify God and to bring people to a saving or further knowledge of His love to be a pure form of worship. So here at Gateway, Performing Arts is synonymous with worship.

We only desire and strive to display productions or artistic presentations that point people to the Lord. While entertainment is a wonderful component of Performing Arts and a powerful tool to reach people, that is not the ultimate goal. In John 4:23 it says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” Also, in 1 Timothy 2:3–4 we see: “God our Savior ... desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Whether you’re an actor, dancer, artist, songwriter, musician, videographer, A/V technician or have a hybrid form of multiple artistic expressions; may everything you do and everything we do through the Performing Arts bring worship and honor to the Lord. I pray that through every song, dance, script, picture or presentation of any kind, we continually focus on the ultimate goal: to help accomplish God’s desire for all to spend eternity with Him, starting now!
