Kristen is a multi-talented entrepreneur
with a heart as big as Texas. She is the owner, host, and creative director of GoodKnit Kisses. GoodKnit Kisses is a company positioned to inspire, encourage, and empower people through education and design. She’s built a large and
loyal online community of followers by sharing her personal passion for knitting and all things creative through YouTube video tutorials, Facebook live broadcasts, blogs, and patterns. Her vision is to leave an inspired crafting world for future generations that continues to teach and reach others. She and her husband, John, have three amazing kids.

How do you hope to make a mark in the lives of others?
I love to encourage women to find their passion. Such joy arises when we find the “thing” our Maker created us to create. I encourage others to seek out the things that they enjoy creating, teach them to expand their skills and knowledge, and then inspire them to use that thing to bless others. In this way, we all can become the hands and feet of Jesus. What better way to show love than to create things, actually with stitches of love, and then give them away with love and a hug?

How has your faith impacted your life?
My work happens to be in the spotlight, so whatever I do is open for others to see. My faith helps me to respond with love and encouragement through social media. I let people who follow me know what I do and why I’m passionate. When prompted, I share pieces of my story, including
a history of child abuse, a significant head injury that affected my memory, and my struggles with post-partum depression. God has grown my sphere of influence and my ability to influence others as I honestly share about my own journey.

What advice would you give to another woman who is concerned about whether her life is impactful?
Ask God for a creative idea and then follow it through. There was a season in my life when I
felt something significant was missing. I talked
to the Lord and He simply said, “You’re missing your ‘crafty.’” Boom! That was it. GoodKnit Kisses was born. Even though I was in a highly creative job, there was something about working with my hands that especially satisfied me. I began making tutorials on my own YouTube channel and grew
to lead a small group to share my love of knitting. Today I work with women worldwide, encouraging them to make their own handmade gifts and share with other women. God will take the smallest obedience and use it to bless others.

Do you have a guiding phrase you live by?
A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
