February is here and because it’s recognized as the month of love, we’re going to spend the month dissecting what real love is. The Bible says, “God is love,” so we want to help young people discover true love in God. We’re so thankful for all you do to build up and support your teenager, and we’re excited to come alongside you in supporting a godly vision for your child’s future!
New Student Series: “Love Somebody”
We’re kicking off the month of love with a new series called “Love Somebody.” In a culture where love is misunderstood, it is hard to know what true love looks like. In 1 John 4:8 it says, “God is love,” so we’ll be taking the next few weeks to learn from God what true love means. This series will include the definition of true love, tactics for successful relationships, God’s design for sexual purity, and a challenge to love people the way God intended us to. We believe this could be the year of the greatest spiritual growth your student has ever experienced!
Content & Resources
To prepare for this series we have been prayerfully using a couple resources we want to share with you, so you can share them with your family. Bob Goff’s book Love Does is an amazing resource for family reading that encourages us to leverage love and turn it into action. Another resource is the video “Furious Love” by WP Films, which is available on YouTube.
We will use an entire service to discuss sexual purity and God’s plan for sex on Wednesday, February 20. This discussion will not be graphic but will be Bible-based and presented in a mature and thoughtful way. We encourage you to come sit in or watch online.
Student Conference 2019
Gateway Student Conference sees students from all over come together to be part of something bigger than themselves. Over three days, students will engage in worship, hear inspiring messages, be challenged to discover their purpose, and find a deeper sense of belonging. At Gateway Student Conference, we seek to equip a generation that is ready to impact the world around them.
