This summer, the team who brought you Truthical, Chasing Lights, and Fiddler on the Roof presents Godspell. This Tony-nominated musical is a contemporary retelling of the Gospels according to Matthew and Luke with completely updated arrangements of classic songs by Stephen Schwartz (the composer of numerous hit musicals and films including WickedThe Prince of EgyptPocohontasPippinThe Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Enchanted).

Godspell is a musical retelling of various parables taken from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke set in a modern context (in our case, a coffeehouse in 2017). The title of the show comes from the Old Saxon spelling of the word “gospel” and means “good story.” The good story of Godspell is a hilarious yet moving depiction of Jesus recruiting a group of followers and teaching them a series of lessons. These lessons and events unfold via modern methods of storytelling, including celebrity impressions, pop culture references, and contemporary-style songs, dance, and humor. The overall tone of Godspell is fresh, playful, and improvised while also impactful and deeply meaningful.

So spread the word and invite your family, friends, and coworkers!
