Sierra Leone, a country in West Africa, experienced a major disaster on August 16, 2017. With heavy rainfall and major mudslides affecting the country’s capital, it is in a desperate situation with over 400 dead and more than 1,500 missing. A coroner who witnessed the Sierra Leone civil war and recent Ebola outbreak says he has never seen anything like this magnitude of death and destruction.

It is important we follow an organized response so that we, as a church, can be of assistance and not a hindrance. We ask that you not travel to the disaster area unless you have communicated with an organization already involved in relief efforts and they are aware of your arrival.

Prayer changes everything, brings comfort to those in difficult situations, and heals the brokenhearted. The power of prayer moves mountains.

Things to pray for:

  • Those affected by this disaster.
  • The relief teams working to help those in need.
  • Our church connections in Sierra Leone as they care for the community.

Your donations will be given to our ministry partners helping those affected.
